Trauma and its role in the life of a drug addict
WERNEROVÁ, Barbora
The work deals with the role of trauma in the life of a drug addict with regard to his early childhood and the traumatic events he encountered. The first part of the work is focused on the characteristics of stress, defense mechanisms, post-traumatic stress disorder, then the work presents post-traumatic growth, which is a positive consequence of trauma. The work also deals with the definition of addiction and its origin. The causes and forms of addiction are described. In the last part of the work we deal with the connections between trauma and addiction, specifically how neurobiology and the external environment can be one of the causes of addiction. In this part, the emphasis is on the fact that the event itself is not trauma, but what a person experiences, what takes place within a person and his reaction to a traumatic event, is only trauma. In conclusion, the theory of Gabor Maté is mentioned, who described addiction as a direct consequence of trauma.
Functions of Consciousness in Psychoanalysis and Analytical Psychology
Malimánek, Karel ; Kebza, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
Analysis of the most important functions of consciousness, considering its relations with unconsciousness in psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, is the goal of this thesis. The sources of the thesis are the tophographic and structural models of Sigmund Freud. These models enable analysing the functions of consciousness in the context of psyche structure from the psychoanalytical and psychodynamic point of view. Afterwards the thesis focuses on the extension and the functional autonomy of Ego within the structural subject theory known from authors like A. Freud, Hartmann, Brunner and others. These are the concepts of adaptation and Ego defensive functions especially. Carl Gustav Jung and his concept of the fully antonomous Ego is presented in the end of the theoretical part. The research project, that si being proposed in the very end of this thesis, deals with one of the Ego defense mechanisms - the repression. Keywords psychoanalysis, consciousness, ego, adaptation, defense mechanisms
Bioenergetic Analysis and its Application in Physiotherapy
Blažková, Kristýna ; Stackeová, Daniela (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title of Diploma Thesis: Bioenergetic Analysis and its Application in Physiotherapy. Purpose: To evaluate bioenergetic analysis from the point of view of the physiotherapist and suggest the application of the whole method or some of its components in physiotherapy. Methods: Thesis is conceived as a theoretical work, was based on the literature retrieval of the accessible relevant literary sources. Literature, pressed and electronic monographs, textbooks, professional journals was derived from the professional medical databases, bibliographical databases, library catalogues, were used also sources from the specialization of psychosomatic medicine, psychology, kinesiology. The obtained knowledge was analyzed from the point of wiev of the physiotherapist with the goal to suggest the application of the method or some of its components in physiotherapy. Results: The possibility of the application of the bioenergetic analysis and the therapy as a complex in physiotherapy turn out to be inconvenient. The possibility of the application of the components of the bioenergetic analysis and the therapy seems to be suitable. Key Words: Bioenergetic Analysis, Defense Mechanisms, Character Structure, Posture, Postural and Gestural Expression
Defence mechanisms of phytoplankton exposed to UV radiation
Dvořáková, Jana ; Němcová, Yvonne (advisor) ; Pichrtová, Martina (referee)
Phytoplankton builds an important part of energy flow in the Earth's ecosystem. It forms the basis of the food chain and represents main primary producers. The question arises, due to the continuing ozone depletion, what impact may cause the increasing intensity of UV radiation on aquatic ecosystems. Especially UV-B radiation is capable of penetrating depp into the water column and affects the key physiological processes (e.g. growth, reproduction) and causes acute physiological stress to aquatic organisms including phytoplankton. The gole of my thesis is to summarize the studies focused on the impact of UV radiation on planktonic algae and the defense mechanisms that reduce the negative effects of UV radiation. These mechanisms may be devided into three groups: active avoidance, production of UV-absorbing substances and repairs of damage induced by UV radiation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Defense Mechanisms in School-Age Children
Glaser, Jiří ; Šírová, Eva (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
This bachelor's thesis consists of scientific literature compilation and research design. At the beginning of the theoretical part, defense mechanisms are characterized together with their possible classifications. The next section describes various types of methods that are used for defense mechanism assessment. In the following, two methods for each of these types are mentioned in detail, together with research concerning their validity, if such exist. Besides that, more defense mechanism assessment methods, used for children, are mentioned. The next topics covered in this thesis are defense mechanism characteristics in school-age children and defense mechanism development. Results compiled from large body of research are mentioned in this section. In the final chapter a research design is presented. It concentrates on comparison of defense mechanism assessment using Fairy Tale Test and Defense Mechanism Manual.
Secondary Defensive Mechanisms in Psychoanalysis
Malimánek, Karel ; Šípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee)
Analysis of the secondary defensive mechanisms, considering psychoanalytic theories of a intrapsychic conflict, is the goal of this thesis. The thesis focuses on contemporary approaches and concepts to secondary defensive mechanisms with theoretical and observational point of view. Repression is considered to be the basis of the secondary defensive mechanisms. Afterwards the thesis focuses on work of Sigmund Freud with respect to his articulation of defense, repression and defensive mechanism in accordance with psychoanalytic theory of conflict, changing over time. Anna Freud and revision of structural model by Charles Brenner are also mentioned. The emphasis is put on conflicts of oedipal period with respect to research project. Afterwards the thesis focuses on attempts to experimentally demonstrate repression considering defects. The research project is the replication and relates to repression of incestuous story concerning grammar school students. Keywords defensive mechanisms, repression, defense, intrapsychic conflict, structural model, Oedipal complex
The most frequent situations stimulating defense mechanisms self-concept of pupil and their solution
Pechačová, Michaela ; Krykorková, Hana (advisor) ; Švandová, Martina (referee)
This thesis deals with the development of defense mechanisms, as shaped by its psychoanalytic origins to contemporary psychology. Next, deals with stressful situations that are seen as the most common possible causes underlying defense mechanisms currently. The work is framed within the school context. It focuses on primary school pupils and frequent stressful situations related to the school environment. In its conclusion, the work focuses on the overall approach to children when they are already in a stressful situation, highlights the ways in these times, children pointing in the right direction and how to approach them if they already apply some defense. Work sums up the issue of defense mechanisms, trying to modernize this concept based on the history and highlights its possible rife among pupils in practice.
Parasitoid hymenoptera hosts specialisation and defensive mechanisms of their host species
Bubeníková, Kristýna ; Janšta, Petr (advisor) ; Holý, Kamil (referee)
Parasitoids (Hymonoptera: "Parasitica") are very large group of insects. Their diversity is also enormous in various morphological adaptations and hosts specialisations. The bachelor thesis summarize particular types of host specialisations and compare generalits and specialists from taxonomical, ecological, evolutionary and geographical point of view. The thesis include summary of theories concerning host-defence adaptations against parasitoids (i.e. morphological adaptations, space-time adaptations) as well. Key words: Apocrita, specialist, generalist, defensive mechanism, evolutuion
